Objective(s)
To support young people from the suburbs of Dakar by offering them scholarships for a 10-month vocational training course at CESARC, with the aim of tackling unemployment and poverty and preventing irregular migration.

Overview
As part of its social commitment, AfricTivistes is offering four scholarships to young people from the suburbs of Dakar to take part in a 10-month vocational training programme at the Senegalese-American Centre for Capacity Building (CESARC), which began on 21 October 2024.
BACKGROUND
The suburbs of Dakar — Keur Massar, Mbao, Jaxaay, Tivaouane Peul and Rufisque — are facing high youth unemployment, poverty and irregular migration. CESARC’s MACAC programme addresses these challenges by providing practical skills that are in demand in the labour market, in line with the motto: ‘Training for all, work for everyone.’
APPROACH
Scholarship recipients receive practical training in high-growth sectors — such as electrical engineering, construction, web and multimedia marketing, and pharmacy sales — supplemented by work placements, personalised mentoring from experts, and support with entering the job market upon completion of the training.
