Objective(s)

In response to fake news and politically biased information about African migration, this project provides internet users with detailed, reliable, and balanced information. It aims to change the narrative on African migration by placing the human element at the heart of the analysis.

Overview

Presentation

The platform aims to promote a nuanced and in-depth understanding of migration dynamics on the continent, ensuring a balanced approach to African migration issues.

Context

Mainstream media often focus on irregular migration and perpetuate negative stereotypes, while the majority of African migration is intra-African. This program addresses these biases by offering contextualized, fact-based information that respects human rights. Dialogue Migration thus positions itself as a space for rebalancing information, with particular attention paid to the most vulnerable populations, especially women and minors.

Approach

The platform relies on a network of content producers from several countries to produce and disseminate verified information. It offers various sections—testimonies, stories, fact-checks, and public contributions—combining digital journalism, professional fact-checking, and the use of open migration data..
