At a time when democratic gains are under threat in several African countries, the ” AfricTivistes Governance and Democracy Champion ” initiative highlights a political and public figure or an entity that has had a transformative impact on the democratisation and good governance processes in a signatory country of the African Charter on Governance (CADEG) between 2012 and 2023.

Strengthen democracy, the rule of law and human rights in Africa by promoting and defending the fundamental principles of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG) through the recognition of a role model.
