[Togo] Civil society organisations and African citizen movements condemn the repression of peaceful demonstrations
In light of the repression of peaceful demonstrations that occurred on 6 June in Togo, civil society organisations and African citizen movements express their deep concern. They condemn violations of fundamental freedoms, particularly the right to protest, and call on the Togolese authorities to ensure respect for human rights. They also urge ECOWAS to fully play its role in crisis prevention and the promotion of democratic principles in the sub-region.
