Vacancy Announcement for Content Producers
AfricTivistes has launched a call for applications to hire seven (7) content producers for the platform www.dialoguemigration.com. In order to do so, a number of prerequisites must be met:
Eligibility
Any journalist or blogger residing in Africa and accepting the conditions set out below by AfricTivistes can apply to the call for applications.
The content producer must have at least five (5) years experience in the field of journalism.
He/she should have a good knowledge and understanding of migration issues.
Skills
The journalist or blogger must have a good command of editorial skills and journalistic and multimedia writing techniques.
The Content Producer must also be skilled in researching, checking and evaluating sources and data.
He/she must be able to do editorial monitoring and be skilled in research and information gathering.
He/she must have knowledge of migration issues.
He/she must have technical prerequisites, proven skills in the digital field, including mastery of the main communication tools and platforms.
He/she must have knowledge of WordPress and, in general, a good command of IT tools.
He/she must be able to manage a blog.
Required Qualifications
A proven interest in migration and the respect of migrants’ rights or human rights in general.
Punctuality and time management skills
Flexibility and adaptability
Availability to travel in the field
Confidentiality
Ability to work in a team.
Application package
The application package includes
– a letter of motivation addressed to the President of AfricTivistes
– a CV;
– Two journalistic or blog productions (preferably on migration, development or human rights issues);
– At least one reference person and his/her contacts

PS: Applications from content producers living in the project’s target countries ( The Gambia, Guinea, Niger and Mauritania) are strongly encouraged.
Duration of the contract
After their recruitment, a one-year contract will be signed between AfricTivistes and these content producers. The contract will come into force in January 2023.
Conditions applicable to content producers
Content Producers are required to comply with certain obligations in the contract between them and AfricTivistes. In a two-copy contract, it is stated that they are required to produce three journalistic productions on migration a month if they are not assigned to the fact-checking desk. If applicable, to commit to doing daily news monitoring and to be at the service of the fact-checking editor during their assignment to the desk.
Thus, the journalist who produces content (press or fact-checked articles) is responsible for producing at least three (3) pieces of work (press article, audiovisual or multimedia piece) during the month. And those who will be assigned to the fact-checking editorial staff shall work full time during the month in accordance with the ToR produced in this regard.
Content producers must commit themselves to participate in weekly editorial meetings (once a week) and in the conception or realisation of videos or sound recordings in support of the other team members – They must participate in certain activities of the communication service such as the “Spaces” planned on Twitter to share their experiences and participate in the dissemination of their productions.
The productions are the exclusive property of AfricTivistes and the journalist will be credited as the author. AfricTivistes is the sole owner of the broadcasting and publication rights of the article produced under this contract. It has the prerogative to publish it on all its own and partner platforms.
The journalist or blogger authorises AfricTivistes to use his/her name, image (provided by him/her) and contacts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin) in the context of the dissemination of the piece he/she has written.
They must agree to participate in the Inception workshop that will be organised for the journalists benefiting from this project between 15 and 20 December.
Obligations of AfricTivistes
AfricTivistes will provide the translator with all the materials and information he/she needs to carry out his/her work in a timely manner.
In return for his/her services, AfricTivistes will pay a monthly salary to each Content Producer for one (1) year.
AfricTivistes commits to maintain the confidentiality of the data of the applicants to the vacancy for the position of translator.
AfricTivistes guarantees the confidentiality of communications and contractual relations between the translator and the organisation.
