AfricTivistes presents #Innov4Democracy: a hub for technological innovation in the service of democracy!
Join the pan-African digital innovation competition that recognises innovators who have put their talents to work in the service of democracy. AfricTivistes, as part of the Charter Project Africa, is setting a challenge for young talent: design digital solutions to strengthen democracy and good governance. Showcase your expertise, whether you’re a developer, graphic designer, designer or simply an enthusiast. The best innovations will be recognised at a major event from 10 to 13 January 2024 in Cotonou.
🚀 Le Challenge :
To promote the creation of innovative digital tools that strengthen democracy and good governance in Africa, particularly at local level, AfricTivistes is launching the pan-African #Innov4Democracy competition. This hackathon aims to capitalise on both the talents of young people and the opportunities presented by the digital revolution. AfricTivistes firmly believes that the convergence of digital technologies and African youth offers a solution to the continent’s key challenges.

This is an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their strong commitment to democratic culture and thereby contribute to the promotion of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (CADEG), the African Union’s main political instrument in the field of democratic governance.
🌟 What are we waiting for?
We are looking for innovative solutions, ranging from web and mobile applications to other technological initiatives, which:
1- Encourage civic participation, particularly amongst young people and marginalised groups.
2- Facilitate access to public information.

🏆 The Awards:
The 10 best projects will be shortlisted for the main competition. The five best teams will then each receive a grant of €5,000 and benefit from technical support from AfricTivistes.
📅 Key Dates:
The competition will take place from 10 to 13 January 2024. At the end, the teams will present their projects to a panel of experts. The five best innovations will be recognised with cash prizes.
